Rehabilitation of the Old Bridge in Mostar
Credit No. 3269 BOS Invitation for Prequalification
This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for
this project that appeared in Development Business numbered 514, dated 16.06,
1999 (updated in issue 539 dated 31.07.2000.)
The Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina (City of Mostar) has received a credit
from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Pilot
Cultural Heritage Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this
credit to payments under the contract for Rehabilitation of the Old Bridge in
Mostar, ICB 002/2001. The Project Coordination Unit of the City of Mostar
intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for:
-Restoration of the remaining part of the former bridge; -Reconstruction of destroyed parts of the Bridge,
carrying it out by using the identical materials and original technology and by erecting a
scaffolding for assembling of the ashlars; -Rehabilitation and consolidation of masonry abutment
walls and stone walls located on the riverbanks.
It is expected that invitations to bid will be made in July 2001.
Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified
in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits,
January 1995 (revised January and august 1996, September 1997 and January 1999),
and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the
guidelines.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the
prequalification document at the Project Coordination Unit (address below) from
8:30 -16:30. A complete set of prequalification documents in English language
may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written
application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee
amounting 80 - DEM. The method of
payment will be a bank transfer on the following number of bank account: 7100
-280-4806132524 located at Zagrebačka Banka BH d.d. Kardinala Stepinca bb,
Mostar with the marking "PCU of the City of Mostar". The document will
be sent by courier express.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes,
delivered to the address below by 16th June 2001 at 14:00 hours and
be clearly marked "Application to Prequalify for Pilot Cultural Heritage
Project “Rehabilitation of the Old Bridge in Mostar”, ICB 002/2001.
